Beautiful Peacock! Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop! Joli paon!

So this is it! The first Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop of the year! Are you excited? Hopefully I can entertain you ;)

(Artisan Design Team)! Etes-vous impatient? J'espère que je pourrais vous satisfaire ;)

This month the Team are focusing on the Sale-a-bration products and we had a choice of stamp set we could use. Now I will be honest with you, because I'm that kind of girl - I really wanted the Pandas but there are ADT members with ninja fingers and I was lucky to get my second choice of the Peacock!

Growing up in England I remember visiting Warwick Castle as a child and seeing the peacocks - I fell in love with their amazing colours.

So my next concern was how to get all the colours of a Peacock onto my card. I mean look how gorgeous they are:

Now I'm not going to lie - it took me some time to get the colours exactly how I wanted but this is how I did it:

  1. The Stamparatus is your weapon of choice.
  2. Starting with your "tail feathers" stamp and your Lemon Lime Twist ink pad fully cover your stamp with the ink and stamp.
  3. Next up is Bermuda Bay ink and you only want this towards the top part of your feathers. I gently tap my stamp pad and then I use a sponge dauber to "soften" the edges of the ink on the stamp, and stamp.
  4. Finally take your Island Indigo ink and this is just on the top edges of the feathers, again use your sponge dauber to soften the ink and stamp.
  5. Let your ink dry! Puis laissez sécher votre encre!
  6. Now the body - and we're starting with Wisteria Wonder ink and a light tapping over the full body and stamp.
  7. Now Tempting Turquoise ink, a light hand again over your stamp and stamp.
  8. Finally Elegant Eggplant just at the top of your body, use your sponge dauber again to soften the ink on your stamp and stamp.
  9. Nailed it? Practice makes perfect !! Bien joué! C'est en pratiquant que vous progresserez!!

And the Petal Burst embossing folder just called to me to be used, I mean those blooms have a feather shape to me, what do you think?

I also made a little gift box to match the card:

White heat embossing on craft is a favourite of mine and the beautiful silver edged ribbon is just perfect to secure the little box:

So wow! First project completed and I still can't believe I'm an Artisan, this year is going to fly by! So fasten your seat belts and let's have fun together!
