Mini Love Heart Treat Bag using Sending Love | Tutorial

Stampin' Up! demonstrator Sarah Lancaster Sending Love Mini Treat Bags

Just in time for Valentines Day I have a tutorial to share for a cute little treat box that is just the right size for the mini Love Hearts sweeties.

To create my treat bags I followed a tutorial by Stampin' Georgia but I discovered that her bags were too small to hold my Love Hearts treats so I changed the measurements and now the candy fits perfectly.

Here are the details for my treat bags :
  • DSP measuring 5 ½ inches by 3 inches (if your pattern is directional then you want the pattern parallel with the long side - see my photo below)
Score on the long side at 1 ¼", 2 ½", 3 ¾" and 5" :

Turn your paper 90 degrees to the right and score at 1" on the short side :

Next you need to fold and burnish your score lines, cut up your fold lines on the long side, remove the lower left hand side rectangle and add your tear and tape adhesive on the right side edge :

To secure your mini treat bag you will need to add some Tear and Tape adhesive to the back side of the second flap in from the right (right side up) or from the left (wrong side facing) like the photo below :

First remove the protective backing from your Tear and Tape adhesive on the flap and secure the sides of the box together. Then fold in the bottom side flaps, the back flap forward and the front flap back. Remove protective backing from the adhesive and secure your bottom flap down.

With the front of the box facing you pinch the sides together at the top. Pop in your treat. I stapled my treat box shut and added a bow. You could also punch a small hole or two and tie a ribbon to secure your box.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial. Be sure to watch Georgia's video if anything isn't clear. Enjoy making your little treat bags and stay crafty,
