SU retirement highlights | happy mother's day

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I am continuing with the highlight of some of the Stampin' Up! stamp sets and kits that will be retiring on 2 June 2015 when the new 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue is released. Be quick if you see something that you love because they will not be available to purchase from 3 June 2015!

Today I am again concentrating on the Sweet Laughter/Merci Maman stamp set that appears in the Occasions Spring/Summer 2015 Catalogue. This stamp set has a number of images and sentiments that are perfect for celebrating and showing love for Mothers.

I love the stamp that has a dictionary definition of *Mother*. I constructed this card so that when you pull the tag, the meaning is revealed ~

We are celebrating Mother's Day on Sunday (31 May 2015) in France. I really like this stamp set as the sentiments and images are beautiful and great for a number of techniques, as I have shown with my recent highlights.

Here are the details of the stamp set - it is available in English although I used the French version and it is also available in German. You can click on the images and it will take you straight to the Stampin' Up! website ~

SU retirement highlights | sweet laughter & video tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog.

As you probably know by now I love watercolour techniques and here is a card I created using this set ~

This card was created using a *watercolour masking technique* and I created a similar card using the same technique and filmed my process. You can watch the video here or on YouTube ~

Another card that I made with this set was this one with a butterfly slider ~

To colour this card I used my Stampin' Up markers, these are great for many types of techniques as they are water-based. I will be using these again, to highlight the new In-Colours 2015-2017 that will be released with the new catalogue so be sure to follow my blog or YouTube channel (links on the right hand side of my blog).

SU retirement highlights | your perfect day & video tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog.

For the next couple of weeks I am planning to highlight some of the Stampin' Up! stamp sets and kits that will be retiring on 2 June 2015 when the new 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue is released.

Today I am concentrating on the Your Perfect Day/Jour Parfait stamp set that appears in the Occasions Spring/Summer 2015 Catalogue. This stamp set has a number of images and sentiments that are perfect for weddings. I have used this stamp set a number of times, including some watercolour techniques. Here is one of my cards ~

For this card I used a technique that *wicks away* the watercolour to produce an awesome effect. Here is the video of how this card was created, you can also watch it on YouTube ~

SU retirement highlights | something lacy & video tutorial

Hello and welcome to my blog.

For the next couple of weeks I am planning to highlight some of the Stampin' Up! stamp sets and kits that will be retiring on 2 June 2015 when the new 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue is released.

Today I am concentrating on the Something Lacy stamp set that appears in the Occasions Spring/Summer 2015 Catalogue. This is a full background stamp in either wood or red rubber. There are number of techniques that you can use a background stamp for and here is a couple of ways that I have used it ~

I have heat embossed it with white powder and then ink blended. The embossed image then resists the ink and produces a beautiful effect ~

I even have video tutorial on how to do this for you, which you can watch here or on YouTube ~

You can click through to my Stampin' Up! online store where you can purchase the Something Lacy stamp before it retires in just a few weeks time.

You can see all the retiring stamps and accessories by clicking on the photo below ~

wedding congratulations | 3D hanging decorations

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I am wrapping up this week's wedding theme with some 3D hanging decorations. Using the same idea of some Christmas decorations I made last year, I have some constructed some gifts with a wedding theme ~

Using the same plastic domes as the decorations I shared on Wednesday, this time the scene is vertical - but it is still a shaker! The one above is created for Baptism celebrations but they can be adapted for Easter and Wedding celebrations too.

Here I have finished the decoration with some pretty ribbon.

The scene is cut from white card stock which I have then ink blended to achieve the soft pastel colours of the scene. Here are a couple of variations with French sentiments ~

I hope you enjoyed this week's wedding themed 3D decorations and cards. Have a beautiful day.x

You can buy my cards and creations at Etsy (English sentiments) and at A.Little.Market (French sentiments) - if you click on the highlighted words it will take you straight to my shop for you to have a browse. I hope you'll pop over for a look, they are very reasonably priced and all come in a cellophane wrapper with a plain white envelope. All purchases are sent in a padded envelope too.

wedding congratulations | cards

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Following on from yesterday's post showcasing some 3D wedding creations, today I have some cards to share. All my supplies are listed at the end of the post.

All three cards are similar, with just a change of colours and sentiment ~

To construct the card I have lightly ink blended the background to produce a soft sky effect and then used soft pastel colours for the church and the scenery. Finally I have stamped the sentiment in crisp black ink.

Here is my second card ~

And finally one with a sentiment in French ~

The sentiments I have used are from Stampin' Up! - they are perfect for creating your cards for wedding celebrations. The French stamp set is also available in English (Your Perfect Day) and it is such a lovely set but will not be available for purchase after 2 June 2015. So be quick if you want it! I have shown it on a number of cards, including this watercolour one that was part of the Pootles blog hop. You can watch my process video on YouTube.

The other stamp set For the New Two that I have used here is also suitable for watercolour techniques. You can see some cards that I created by clicking here featuring this set and also a process video. I also have a video showing how to produce a *bokeh* effect that uses this stamp set, you can watch it on YouTube or read my blog post by clicking here.

I will have more process videos and tutorials coming soon with the release of the new Stampin' Up! catalogue. You can follow my blog or my YouTube channel by clicking on the links in the right hand side bar.

I hope you enjoyed my wedding cards, I will be back tomorrow with my final wedding projects for this week. Have a beautiful day.x

wedding congratulations | jar toppers | 3D decorations

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today I am sharing some awesome 3D gift toppers or decorations for weddings. Not only do they look amazing but they are also shakers! That's right, these are filled with tiny green flakes that resemble grass. My supplies are detailed at the end of the post.

Here is a close up ~

The church is constructed with a die and you can choose to stamp it and/or add die cuts for window frames. I have chosen to keep it simple. This one I have added to the top of a mason jar which can be filled with treats for the lucky couple and then retained as a keepsake.

On the following decoration I added a tag with two slits for threading a ribbon through to tie to the top of a wedding gift. How awesome would that look?

The possibilities are endless and tomorrow I will be back with some more 3D decorations to share. Have a beautiful day.x

secret agent birthday invitations

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today my son Zachary is celebrating his 11th birthday! I'm not sure where all the time went between the relief and joy of welcoming him into the world after a difficult birth and him being so big. He is very nearly taller than me! He is also such a brave boy as over 4 years ago he was diagnosed as Type 1 Diabetic, something that he will probably have to live with for the rest of his life unless medicine devises a way to kick start his pancreas, but that doesn't stop him having fun and living life to the full.

He celebrated with his friends yesterday - they had a Spy Party! I had lots of fun devising clues (in French) for them to crack so that they could find the treats!

Today I wanted to quickly share with you the invitations that I devised for him ~

I made the invitation in the form of a Top Secret file and here is the inside ~

The magnifying glass rotates to reveal the *secret code* ~

I hope you enjoyed seeing my invites, thanks for reading and have a beautiful day.x
