stampin' up! | guy greetings | a bi-lingual father's day card

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today I have another masculine card using the Guy Greetings stamp set from Stampin' Up! This is my fourth card this week to highlight how versatile this stamp set is. You can see my other cards here, here and here.

For my card today I used the car image included in the set ~

I used the Hardwood background stamp to create the wood effect on the card. I stamped the car and then cut it out. By using a slider die cut from Papertrey Ink I mounted the car using dimensional adhesive on a tag cut using a die from 4enscrap.

So when you pull the tag to the left the car slides along and reveals a hidden message ~

As one of my occupations is to teach English to the local French school children I am looking forward to reproducing a more simplified version of this card with  them for Father's Day in June.

Here is another look at the full card ~

I hope you have enjoyed my masculine cards this week and hopefully I have highlighted how versatile this set is. I sometimes find that creating cards for male relatives can present problems, but there are definite possibilities with this set. For example, I haven't yet used the male figure or some of the sentiments - so there is still plenty of work to be done!

Here is a full look at the stamp set and remember you can personalised the sentiment depending on which male relative the card is for ~

My next weekly highlight will be wedding cards, again using a single stamp set all week to highlight its versatility. I will also have some technique videos, so remember to subscribe to my blog or my YouTube channel using the buttons on the right sidebar.

Thank you for reading and have a beautiful day.x

stampin' up! | guy greetings | father's day

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today I have another male card to share, again using the Stampin' Up! Guy Greetings stamp set. Today my card has a Father's Day sentiment but this can easily be converted to a birthday or other male celebration card using the stamps that come in the set.

Here is a close up of the sentiment ~

For this card I used my blue inks from the current collection by Stampin' Up! Here is the full card ~

To create this card I was inspired by a recent card by Kristina Werner. I masked off part of the card and stamped my images on the left hand side in various coloured blue inks. As I described the other day I cut apart the hat stamp, I also carefully cut apart the tools stamp for ease of stamping the images individually.

Before removing the masking tape I lightly blended some grey ink across stamped area.

I then stamped my sentiment and die cut it using the Hearts Collection Framelit dies from Stampin' Up! These are one of the items retiring from the current catalogue and therefore you can get a super deal on them - 50% reduced! But don't wait because things are selling really quickly and once they are gone, they're gone!

I popped my sentiment up on dimensional adhesive and called my card done! This is my third card this week using this stamp set, you can see my other ones here and here. This stamp set also comes in French and German and is a great set to add to your collection for those masculine cards - they can be tricky!

Here is another look at the stamps included in the English version of the set ~

I will be back again tomorrow with another card utilising this set to highlight how versatile it can be.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day.x

stampin' up! | guy greetings | marker to stamp technique

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today I am continuing my showcase of one single stamp set to make a number of cards. I am using the Guy Greetings set from Stampin' Up!

I created my card using the *marker to stamp technique* and here is a close up of my sentiment ~

You can see that I have two colours there and to find out how I did it please watch this short video from Stampin' Up!

That's a great technique to use to really highlight part of your sentiment or selectively colour stamp.

Here is my complete card ~

I have the French set, in English the sentiment reads *you're my anchor*. Here is a look at the full stamp set in English ~

Again Clean and Simple (CAS) - well it doesn't have to be complicated right? And again I used the retiring Hearts Collection framelits dies (remember 50% off!!).

I hope you enjoyed my card and short video by Stampin' Up! I will be back again tomorrow with another card to highlight this set.

Have a beautiful day.x

stampin' up! | guy greetings | male card - hats off!

Hello and welcome to my blog.

This week I am showing how a single stamp set can be used to create a number of different themed cards and highlight versatility and how far you can stretch your stamps.

So I am concentrating with cards made from the Stampin' Up! Guy Greetings stamp set. Here are the detailed images from the stamp set ~

I am starting off with a Clean and Simple (CAS) card using just the hats stamp and a sentiment. Here is my card ~

To create the focal point of my card I used all the ink shades of green in the current collection from Stampin' Up!

Here is a close up ~

I have the stamp set in French - in English the sentiment reads *Hats off to you!*

I die cut the front of the card using the Hearts Collection Framelit dies from Stampin' Up! These are one of the items retiring from the current catalogue and therefore you can get a super deal on them - 50% reduced! But don't wait too long because things are selling really quickly and once they are gone, they're gone!

Here is another shot of the card ~

This stamp is available in wood, clear and photopolymer versions. I have the photopolymer set and the hats stamp actually comes joined together. I very carefully cut apart the stamp to separate the hats so that I could stamp with them more easily. This does not harm your stamps in any way and can give you more flexibility in card crafting.

This would be a great stamp set to invest in with Father's Day not far away. I will be showcasing cards all this week using this stamp set, so you can see some more ideas :)

an apology and a special reward code

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Firstly I want to apologise to all of my customers who experienced order problems when trying to grab some of the Retiring Goodies from the Stampin' Up! website. There was a huge, global computer glitch that affected the online ordering, even for the demonstrators.

Due to family reasons (for those of you that do not know, my eldest son Zachary is Type 1 Diabetic and has tri-monthly check ups in Lyon) I was not in front of my computer. But I know that many of you found the website glitches frustrating and I can see from my online demonstrator software from the timing of orders received that it was fixed around dinner time yesterday evening.

As way of an apology all of my customers purchasing any item from the Retired List and using the following Hostess Reward code when checking out will receive an additional gift from me. This code is valid the next 30 days ~

Also a big reminder that if you want something from the Retiring List do not wait. The items will sell out and will not be replaced - first come, first served!

Once again, my apologies. I know that some of you were after specific things and I am trying my best to source these for you. If others have similar requests, please contact me and I will try on your behalf.

I hope you have a beautiful day.x

stampin' up! | pretty spring flowerpot card

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Spring is in full bloom in the Rhone Alpes where I live and today I have a pretty little card to share using Stampin' Up! products. The simplicity of this card is very appealing to me, I love the construction and the way that the card carrying the sentiment is hidden within the flowerpot. This means that the recipient gets a lovely surprise!

With Spring in the air I selected the From the Garden stamp and die set, which is a perfect match to the flowerpot card.

I used the Flower Shop stamp set and matching Pansy Punch, but I heat embossed the stamped image in white embossing powder on coloured card stock too get a more fresh look. I used the Petite Petals Punch to add some leaves to my flowers. (If you click on any of the highlighted words it takes you take to the listing in my online store)

Here is my card~

For the focus of my card I selected the 2013-2015 In Colours - as we will shortly be saying goodbye to these when the new catalogue is launched on 2 June 2015.

This is how the card looks when it is closed ~

Here are my supplies and if you purchase the stamps and dies as a *bundle* you can save 15% - yay!

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

I  have seen lots of these cards on Pinterest so if you head over there you will be able to find easy tutorials and lots of great photos. The great thing about the construction is that there are two super easy folds, a little bit of cutting and the ribbon holds the card into the flowerpot :)

I hope you enjoyed my card and are inspired to create one similar. Have a beautiful day.x

stampin' up! | sophisticated serifs

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Firstly I apologise for the lack of blog posts this week! We are on school holidays  for a couple of weeks, so I am spending time with my family. Last Saturday I went to Paris for the day to attend an atelier by Ali Edwards at Version Scrap, so I am still buzzing from that experience!

Today I am here with a very quick project using the Sophisticated Serifs stamp set from Stamping' Up! I love this stamp set and here is a closer look at it ~

You can see that you get two sizes of alphabets, accents and there are the French and German specific characters. There are also some florals and a frame.

For my project to share with you today I cased Sam at Pootle's set of notecards and presentation box. Seriously the possibilities with this stamp set are endless, for a small investment you can make lots and lots of personalised presents. Other than the stamp set you need card stock, ink, ribbon and a few embellishments if you wish. And these are things that most of us already have in our stash.

So this stamp set can be used again and again to make beautiful gifts. Here is my presentation box that holds the notecards ~

This set is for my mum for Mother's Day - she is lucky as she lives in England and we live in France and as Mother's Day is celebrated on two different days she gets two sets of cards and presents a year. I hope she doesn't read my blog (I don't think she does!) but I have to be careful where I post photos on Facebook!

Here are my supplies (if you click on them it will take you direct to my online store) ~

Card stock - Whisper White A4
Seam Binding Ribbon - Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder
Embellishments - Pearl Accents

I hope you enjoyed my project today, I will be back shortly to show the notecards that go inside the above presentation box. Have a beautiful day.x
